Some Of The Things Room 15 Know About New Zealand

We brainstormed in groups all the things we know about New Zealand.  Mrs Venville recorded some of our ideas on the iPad.  Look at the mind map and you can see that we already know quite a bit about our awesome country.  We are learning how to use an atlas and where the cities, oceans and seas are located.

We are Learning about Nouns

Today we brainstormed ideas about all the activities we enjoy.  Next we had to turn these verbs (doing words) into nouns.  For example if we spend time biking we are a biker.  We also came up with nouns describing what we are such as a girl or boy, brother or sister.  We published our ideas and Mrs venville has put them on the wall for you to read.

Qualities We Like In A Friend

We brainstormed using ‘ Kagan, Rally Robin, Peer Share’ all the qualities we like in a friend.  Next we published them.  We had to make sure we made our lettering clear and easy to read.  We can also use some of these words in our writing to make it more interesting for the reader.

What A Great Classroom Looks, Feels and Sounds Like

We brainstormed ideas using rally robin pair share with a partner then came together as a class to pool our ideas together.  This is what we thought a fantastic classroom would look like, sound like and feel like!

We Are Learning To Use Adjectives To Make Our Writing MoreIinteresting.

We wrote about all the things we are great at doing.  The challenge was to include an exciting adjective in each statement.  Come into Room 15 and read our flowers and see how well we did.
